Tours in Bath
From Orange grove and the bus station, one can join a bus tour. But Bath is
designed for the walker and if one takes the time to venture a pied, you will
see far more of this beautiful city. The Mayors Guides Walk leaves from the
Abbey twice each day and it will bring you to the Bizarre Bath, which is funny,
and it costs nothing.
The information office will have many brochures and walks that they will recommend.
For all the tours and everything available, you will have no problem seeing
all the main tourist attractions, so I will tell you what to see that the tours
do not have the time to show you. For a nice walk around the canal that will
bring you into the city centre and one can visit the Gothic Abbey and courtyard,
and then off to taste a Sally Lunn Bun and going down to the tearooms to have
a look at the Sally Lunn Museum and its medieval remains.
Spend your midday in the courtyard where you will hear great classical music.
When you are there, you can book some tickets for the nights performance in
the Theatre Royal. Head down to the Royal Crescent Restaurant where you can
have lunch and a nice glass of wine in glorious splendour. After lunch take
another walk through the Royal Victoria Walk, and on to the Guildhall Market
to look for some great bargains. Walk across the Pulteney bridge and enter the
Beazers Garden for another cup of tea, where you can see the lovely view of
the weir.
